Who's excited for Halloween tomorrow? I know I am! Growing up, Halloween was my favorite holiday. There was just something about dressing up in your costume and getting to go Trick-or-Treating for hours and then coming back and eating a ton of candy. I remember no matter what year it was, there was always that one kid with the sheet over him/her with two holes to see out of. It has to be the easiest costume on this planet, right? One white sheet with two holes in it and bam! You've got one of the most recognizable Halloween costumes on this planet. We seem to be so fascinated and intrigued with ghosts and/or spirts around Halloween, don't we? I mean 1.3 million children plan to dress up as ghosts tomorrow. Popular movies like The Sixth Sense, The Shining, Poltergeist, The Conjuring, and Ghostbusters have captivated us for years. So why is it that our culture seems to be so fascinated by ghosts but here in the church, we seem to not be so fascinated when it comes to the Holy Ghost, better known as the Holy Spirit? We seem to be a bit perplexed and perhaps a little unclear about the Holy Spirit. We spend so much time talking about God the Father and God the Son, but the Holy Spirit always seems to be on the backburner for some reason. And so today, we are going to talk about the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. You' soon discover that the Holy Spirit helps us, comforts us, teaches us, empowers us, and guarantees that ultimately, He (not it) points us to Jesus. He is our ultimate Helper on our journey towards Christ.
