A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB
I was in the third grade when I first fell in love. Her name was Jeanette (I won't list the last name to protect the innocent). To say I was smitten would be an understatement. I remember the excitement of passing notes in school with those famous "yes" or "no" questions and eagerly awaiting her response when the note was passed back to me. I thought Jeanette was "THE" one... until the day she broke my heart. I explained to my mom how heartbroken I was when Jeanette broke up with me. Mom called it "puppy love" but for me, it was a dog's life after that!
Relationships are so important and especially the ones within our own homes. Husbands, wives, children, grandparents... how we relate to one another is key to a happy life. Years ago, there was a book entitled, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. It was to be a candid look on what differences we have and how those differences play into our relationships. I read the book just to see how I might integrate some of its teaching into my own relationships. In the end, I discovered the Scriptures hold the key. It's funny how a man who never married had so much to say about marriage and an orderly household. The Apostle Paul details how we are to relate in his letter to the church in Ephesus and how abiding through these words we can find peace in our homes!
