Can Prayers Change Life's Outcomes?

A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB

One time I was having a conversation with a friend. He had some pretty heavy things going on in his life. As we spoke, I shared how important it was for him to pray about his situation. His answer surprised me. He said, "Bob. Why do I need to pray? If God already knows the outcome, does it make any difference?" I think what I heard was, "If God knows the outcome then it doesn't make sense for me to pray about my situation because what I'm seeking/need/asking for may not be what God knows will happen." Many ask the same questions.

Here's what I know. If I were to analyze every prayer I've ever uttered, 95% of my prayers were answered the way I had asked. It's the 5% that gets us; the 5% that don't work the way we ask. Friends, maybe there's a win even in the 5% because it is in this 5% that we seek God even more.

No matter what, keep praying!
